In Minecraft it is possible to create a wide variety of animals. In today’s guide, we’ll tell you how this works and what you need to know about these Minecraft pets.

To create animals in Minecraft you need to give each animal a certain type of food. After feeding, hearts appear, indicating that the animal is ready for breeding. If another animal of the same type is also fed and the two are eight blocks apart, they will breed and form a baby animal.

How to raise animals in Minecraft

Below is the list of animals that can be raised and what kind of food to give them:

Bees – Bees love flowers and will follow a player who is holding one. Any type of flower will work. All you have to do is feed each bee a flower and it will breed and create a little bee! Cats – Before you can breed cats, you must domesticate them. You can tame cats by feeding them cod or raw salmon until hearts and a leash appear. Once domesticated, just feed the two catfish again. The kitten is automatically tamed. Chickens – Chickens can be raised on beet seeds, melon seeds, pumpkin seeds, or wheat seeds. You follow a player who bears all the seeds. Cows – Like coguvacas, cows follow players who hold wheat and breed when fed this item. Donkeys – Donkeys must be domesticated before they can be reproduced. You can tame a donkey by clicking on it. This puts the player on top of the donkey, which continues to eject it until it is tamed. Once domesticated, donkeys can be fed a golden apple or a golden carrot to breed. Foxes – Once the two adult foxes are caught, feed them blackberries, which are in the Tiaga biome. Horses – Like donkeys, horses must be domesticated before they can breed. Once domesticated, horses can be bred by feeding two of them a golden apple or a golden carrot. Llamas – Llamas must also be domesticated in order to breed. Once domesticated, feed two adult llamas a bale of hay and they breed. Coguvacas – Like cows, these animals can be raised on wheat. Ocelots – Feed them cod or raw salmon to gain their confidence. Once domesticated, feed the two adults again to raise them. Pandas – They will follow the players holding bamboo. To reproduce them, there must be eight bamboo blocks within a five block radius. Otherwise, the pandas will not breed and will only eat the bamboo instead. Pigs – To raise pigs, simply feed them carrots, potatoes, or beets. They follow the players who are holding these items. Rabbits – Rabbits usually run away from players. However, if you hold a carrot, golden carrot, or dandelion, the rabbit will approach. These items can be used to raise two adult rabbits. Sheep – Sheep follow players holding wheat and can be reproduced by feeding this item. Turtles – You will follow players holding seaweed and two turtles can breed by feeding them this item. Wolves – Wolves must be domesticated with bones before they can be reproduced. Once domesticated and fed raw meat to two adult wolves, they can reproduce.
